UNHCR, Asmara-Eritrea

  • TaskImplementation of 10kw system

Asmara is the capital city and largest settlement in Eritrea. Home to a population of around 649,000 inhabitants. It hosts the UNHCR headquarters of Eritrea.

In line with its Global Strategic Priorities, UNHCR’s strategy in the East and Horn of Africa remain to focus on maintaining a favourable protection environment, providing basic needs and services, ensuring emergency preparedness and response capacity, and promoting durable solutions for refugees and other populations of concern.

To help with sustainability and in line with UN Environmental programs, UNHCR Asmara sought to implement a solar system that would see them sustainable, environmentally friendly and supplied with reliable, affordable energy solutions.

We worked to implement a 10KW solar power plant at the UNHCR offices to meet this objectives.

The solar system implemented here for maximum impact included:

  • 34 pieces 300W panels
  • 2Pcs Sunny Island 5048
  • 1pc Sunny Minicentral 10000
