Barpello Secondary, Baringo-Kenya

  • Task20kw system with Battries

Barpello Secondary School is a learning institution in the Rift Valley region; county of Baringo. The climate of East Pokot is typical of arid and semi-arid conditions; with the daily temperature ranging between 30°C and 45°C.

The school is part of a Catholic Mission who aim to increase education uptake in the region and reduce to the levels of illiteracy which adds to the difficulties when it comes to development and addressing basic needs. The high school has a total of 564 students enrolled and with the help of the Catholic Mission, fees at are a bare minimum so as to reduce the number of students failing to enroll due to financial constrictions.

With the infrastructure is very poor in the region, they contracted us to implement an off grid 20KW Solar System to help students increase their ability to study during the night time which was quite a problem with power fluctuations every now and then.

The solar system implemented here  for maximum impact included:

  • 80 pieces of 250W solar modules
  • 3 pieces sunny Island 8.0H
  • 2 piece sunny Tripower 10000TL
  • 1 Piece Batfuse B.03
  • 24 Pieces Gaston Batteries
  • 500Ah/2V
